Tieng Viet Oi - Vietnamese Lessons
Приєднався 28 кві 2014
Tieng Viet Oi - Vietnamese Lessons aims at providing fun and practical Vietnamese lessons to anyone interested in learning the language. The aim of our teaching group is to focus on spoken language, help foreigners sound as fluent and natural as possible, rather than strictly stick with grammar books. As a result, there are a lot of activities, games, sometimes excursions in the lessons.
For the last few years, we've helped so many foreigners working and living in Vietnam with their Vietnamese, but now we want to reach out further to people who are unable to take lessons directly with us. We make Vietnamese learning videos, hoping that people who are struggling to learn our challenging but interesting language will find some help you need here :)

So confused Cám ơn and Cảm ơn
I appreciate the northern dialect on every tone except the dot tone. I believe that the Southern retains the name even with the low heavy tone.
Excellent teaching, poor audio quality.
Cô giáo phân biệt dùm e câch dùng: quá, lắm, thế. Xinh quá! Xinh lắm! Xinh thế! - biết gt thế nào cho họ dễ pb ạ?
what about 'thương'?
Cảm ơn!
I'm back; sorry. These words are driving me nuts. I was so angry I had to stop my lesson today. You pronounce the word lạnh as "lac". I have learned that the Dấu Nặng should be short and heavy, but I cannot understand why the nh becomes a c. Thanks again.
Máy pha cà phê cũng là một từ quan trọng cho những người yêu uống cà phê :D
I don't know if it's right, but tones ranked 1235 in this video actually sounds the same in mandarin Chinese to me
Which language r u pronouncing u mam
Chúc ngủ ngon 😴
Thank you 😊
Do you have a schedule for classes in Ho chi Minh City?
You can find out information about our upcoming classes in our website below: www.tiengvietoi.com/upcoming-classes/
In the North 'Máy lạnh' means 'Fridge', right?
It still means "air-conditioner".
Fridge is tủ lạnh I think. Which means cold closet. Still quite logical
Is this phrase pronounced the same in the north and the south? Thanks
Why are some southern words so different from northern words? Thanks!
Look up Basic English
I think Vietnamese is so hard to pronounce.
Vietnamese is logical, but Vietnamese is difficult for Westerners because it is a tonal language. One word can mean many different things depending on the tone. Thankfully we have you to help us out. You are one of the best teachers out there.
Máy nóng 💀
We say "máy sưởi - Machine to heat up"
Viewers having trouble perceiving the tones might check out the Praat speech analyzer, which is open source software developed by a professional phonetician for serious research work, but which can be downloaded and used by anyone. To see the pitch contours of a speech sample, read section 4 of the Help manual Intro. Basically, you read in an audio file containing the speech sample by clicking on the Open menu item, and then select the View & Edit button to see a graph of the sample, where the blue line indicates the pitch contour. Another open source sound tool is the Audacity audio editor, which can change the tempo of a speech sample to slow it down in order to hear the details much more clearly. Click on the Effects menu item, select Change Tempo, and then use the resulting dialog box to set the percentage of change. For example -60 will reduce the speed by 60%, and similarly a positive number will increase the speed. Also, you want Change Tempo, and not Change Speed, because Change Tempo will preserve the original pitch of the sample, which is obviously important in studying a tonal language. Both of these tools also allow one to easily play something repeatedly at the touch of a button, so you can hear something as often as necessary in order to get a really solid impression in memory. In practice this means that you can listen to something dozens of times in a minute or two, which is very effective, yet still quite efficient in terms of time. Moreover, if you also keep in mind the meaning of the words, you will also absorb both the vocabulary and the grammatical pattern involved in a sample, in addition to the pronunciation. Personally, I use Audacity as my primary study tool, but sometimes I clip out a troublesome section, export it to a separate file, and then import it to Praat to see the pitch contour. This all sounds a trifle complicated, but after you do it a few times it becomes very easy and efficient. You can also use Audacity to clip segments of a larger audio file for use in making Anki flash cards for individual words, phrases, and sentences.
Anh yêu em
Saigon mãi mãi là Saigon chúng tôi không chấp nhận việc quân xâm lược bắc cộng thay đổi tên của Thủ Đô của chúng tôi thành tên của thằng đồ tể khát máu trong lịch sử nhân loại.
Now that was confusing
Tieng Viet Oi, la #1, dep gai, de thuong 😊
That’s a handy one
@ 2:10 it should be "I was given a compliment today." The article letter 'a' is needed or it is incorrect English grammar. 🙃
wash money = money laundering in USA. lol
Thank you, this is very helpful
Cảm ơn anh!
Yes, very helpful!
Good idea to teach..
Cảm ơn bạn! 🇻🇳
Do you know other verbs that can go with "ra - vào"? Let us know in the comments!

Nice teacher
Thank you! 😃
viet was my first language but i never got taught how to read and write, why did you say that 'không' has no tone?
❤
Good🎉
" ngủ ngon nhaaa anh iuuu ♡ " 😂
co the hoc dc nhieu qua video cua cac chi
Oh this is hard to follow. What level of Vietnamese should I be at in order to expect to understand this?
This is for Advanced learners. :)
your videos are great, I'm using them a lot. thank you. whilst this is old and your style changing may I suggest: text on screen very helpful - but not if small. please note how much wasted screen area. Lam could stand a little more to left.. TVO logo could sit bottom right over plant. Then make all fonts larger - diacritics are vital so their visibility is crucial. Use of the word beverage (noun) helps to distinguish from drink (verb) but inconsistently not used under example sentence "I want drink this. " One can read as "want TO drink" or "want THIS drink". 🙏
Thank you so much for your feedback! 🙂
Tôi rất thích podcast của tvo ❤
Cảm ơn bạn nhé!
Thanks for the video. It is very difficult in the beginning. I will keep trying.
probounce?
